Tyler meets a girl named Jules on his way to the woods. She tells him that Mason never came home. She leaves and calls an unknown person and tells them that Mason is missing and that there is another werewolf. Bonnie is focused on de-spelling the moonstone, but Elena wants to get Stefan out of the tomb. Elena tries to sneak the moonstone out of the house but it turns out that Bonnie put a spell on Elena so she can't leave the house.
Damon finds out that Mason is missing. He meets with Alaric and the Sheriff at a bar and Jules walks in and asks Alaric about Tyler. Damon and Alaric spike Jules' drink to find out if she's a werewolf. She doesn't fall for their trap and knows that Damon is a vampire. Damon returns home and is met by Rose. She apologizes to him, then is attacked by a werewolf Jules.
Bonnie apologizes to Luka for channeling his energy. She asks for his help de-spelling the moonstone. It seems to have worked, but it turned out that Luka tricked her and he gives the stone to his dad. Elena is mortified to find out Jenna is helping Elijah write his book. Elijah plots to murder Klaus and uses Elena to lure him out of hiding. Elena agrees to this, only if he will help get Stefan out of the tomb.
In the tomb, Katherine and Stefan hook up, but it turns out that it was only planted in Stefan's mind. Elijah arrives and tells Stefan to leave and compels Katherine to remain in the tomb. Caroline and Tyler go into the woods to prepare for the full moon. He tries to dirk the wolfbane, but it does not go down. He screams and convulses for hours, with Caroline at his side trying to sooth him. She retreats into the cellar the second before he transforms and lunges at her. A while later, Caroline calls his name. He is human again. Stefan returns and hooks up with Elena. Rose tells Damon that they can be friends with benefits, and they start kissing. Damon notices a spot on her back that looks like a wolf bite.
